He then spent thirteen years with Mt. Horeb Utilities as their General Manager of Operations. The scope of his position included line design, overseeing daily electric operations, five-year planning of construction projects and creating contractor bids. In addition, Dennis was responsible for managing customer relations and human resources.

The next seven years of Dennis' career involved working for Rural Electric Cooperatives, Investor Owned Utilities and Municipalities as a Senior Line Designer and Line Inspector.

Dennis routinely performs line inspections to verify NESC compliance, updates facility records and data, and prepares reports regarding condition of utility assets. His expertise regarding safety in the utility industry is supported by his attendance at seminars and conferences offered through the Wisconsin DOT, OSHA and NESC, and Dennis has worked with these agencies regarding safety compliance issues. Dennis served on the board of directors for the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin and was seated on the Job Training and Safety Committee.
